ROLE SUMMARY: The Banquet Server plays a key role in delivering memorable, seamless, and personalized event experiences that reflect legendary hospitality of Hotel Drover. This role is responsible for setting up, serving, and breaking down banquet events while creating a warm, engaging, and professional environment for every guest. Banquet Servers ensure all event functions are executed with precision, teamwork, and a genuine commitment to the Drover Way.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Execute event setup, service, and breakdown according to established banquet standards, including linens, table settings, staging, buffets, and décor as needed.
Provide exceptional guest service by anticipating needs, responding promptly, and delivering food and beverages with professionalism, warmth, and accuracy.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment throughout the event lifecycle, including polishing silverware, prepping service stations, and resetting rooms.
Transport and move banquet equipment including trays, chairs, tables, and service items safely and efficiently.
Accurately answer guest questions regarding menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, and buffet offerings.
Assist in monitoring food quality, presentation, and replenishment.
Maintain communication with Banquet Captain, Lead Server, and Banquet Manager to ensure flawless execution and alignment on service flow.
Collaborate effectively with Culinary, F&B Outlets, Stewarding, and Banquet teams to support event success from start to finish.
Follow all safety, sanitation, and security guidelines, including safe lifting practices and proper food handling protocols.
Ensure correct uniform, grooming standards, and professional appearance in alignment with Hotel Drover and Autograph Collection brand expectations.
All other duties as assigned.
ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs regularly.
Ability to move tables, chairs, service equipment, and banquet items safely and efficiently.
Comfortable working in hot/cold environments (e.g., kitchen, walk-ins).
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy atmosphere with frequent guest interaction.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 2+ years of banquet serving or high-volume hospitality experience.
Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and respectfully with guests and team members.
Flexible schedule — must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to remain calm, organized, and guest-focused in fast-paced or high-pressure situations.
Strong observational skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions from leadership.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience in a luxury hotel, resort, or Autograph Collection property.
Strong multitasking abilities with commitment to delivering high-quality service.
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to guest needs.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
