Job Description

SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT:

  • NOW-OCTOBER
  • OPTION OF WORKING AT ONE OF OUR FACILITIES NOVEMBER-FEBRUARY

SUMMARY

We are searching for a talented and dedicated landscaper to join our team. You will perform a range of general lawn maintenance duties including applying fertilizers, maintaining the landscape design, removing weeds and dead plants and supervising repairs.

As the landscaper, you will ensure the growth and vibrancy of our plants, flowers, lawn and garden structures.  The ideal candidate will be creative, with excellent problem solving and organizational skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Apply pesticides to remove harmful insects such as mosquitos, wasps, and ticks.
  • Conduct general maintenance duties such as cleaning walkways, fixing fountains, and other duties.
  • Apply fertilizer to help enhance growth
  • Trim overgrown limbs, hedges, leaves, and take out weeds and dead plants
  • Plant new decorative bushes, flowers, plants and shrubs.
  • Supervise maintenance repairs to equipment, landscape structures, outdoor furniture, and walkways.
  • Uphold the landscaping design and ensure plant growth
  • Coordinate with garden designers and landscape architects to ensure the garden meets the client’s expectations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED.    
  • Two years landscape or grounds related work  
  • Must be ab le to operate maintenance equipment including lawnmowers, leaf blowers, and hedge trimmers.
  • Knowledge of pest management and basic lawn maintenance preferred.
  • Attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs  
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured by Company.  May be required to acquire and maintain a specific applicators license.      

PREFERRED QUALICATIONS

  • Knowledge  of  tools, equipment, techniques, skills, materials, and methods  of  landscaping  and maintenance  of  lawns  and formal  plantings.     
  • Ability to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.    
  • Ability to operate riding and push mower, power tiller, power edger, weed whip, blower, sprayer, tractor, skid steer loader, dump-bed truck, and basic hand tools.
  • Ability to work in safe and efficient manner.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Sitting, standing, walking, climbing/ladders, squatting/kneeling, reaching,  grasping, pushing/pulling, twisting/bending,  lifting/carrying  up  to  50  lbs  multiple  times  per  shift,  fingering,  talking  hearing,  and seeing.
  • Spends  most  time  outdoors, frequent  exposure  to extreme  hot  or  cold temperatures  for  one  hour  plus. Possible exposure to distraction/uncomfortable noise levels and vibration of body or extremities. Risk of bodily injury from mechanical parts, electricity, etc. Possible exposure to fumes, odors, etc. that may affect respiration and skin.
