Accounts Payable Specialist Compensation: $18–$22 per hour

Accounts Payable Specialist to join their accounting team in Canton Township, Michigan.
This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, payment preparation, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. The ideal candidate is highly organized, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a strong attention to detail while supporting the broader accounting function.
Key Responsibilities - Review vendor invoices for accuracy, proper documentation, and approvals.
- Enter vendor invoices into the accounting system with a high degree of accuracy.
- Process weekly payments, including check and ACH transactions.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
- Review vendor statements and reconcile accounts as needed.
- Set up new vendors in the accounting system and maintain vendor documentation.
- Review and approve employee expense reports in the company’s online expense system.
- Assist with monthly credit card reconciliations.
- Prepare month-end accounts payable accruals.
- Prepare and file annual 1099 forms .
- Maintain subcontractor documentation and compliance paperwork.
- Assist with annual commercial insurance audits.
- Support additional accounting projects and reporting as needed.
Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3+ years of Accounts Payable or related accounting experience preferred.
- Strong ability to review financial documents such as invoices, bank deposits, and accounting records.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work in a primarily seated position for extended periods while performing accounting tasks.
